World Environment Day & Investiture Ceremony

‘What we are doing to the world, is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and one another’.

The celebration of World Environment Day and Investiture Ceremony was a significant start of the new academic year 2018-19. The programme began with seeking blessings from the Almighty through a meaningful prayer service. The MCs briefly explained the history and need of establishing World Environment Day by the United Nations. To embrace the gathering into the pleasant ambience of the programme, Ms. Samruddhi delivered the welcome address, with a floral welcome offered to the Chief Guest Dr. Krishna Prasad by the Head Boy Mahindra.

The members of Young Global Citizen Club enacted a heart-warming skit on the ‘Need and Measures to Protect the Environment’. This was followed by a melodious song ‘The Earth is my home’. The students then danced with the inspiring message ‘Keep it safe because it’s our world’.

To tone students to take up leadership responsibilities, the new cabinet members were inducted into their roles, in the solemn Oath-taking ceremony. Principal Sr. Melissa led the oath to Head Boy Mahindra of Class XII and Head Girl Larrel Jessica Coutinho of Class X, followed by other Cabinet Ministers and House leaders taking the oath.
The investiture ceremony was followed by the Chief Guest’s message. Dr. Krishna Prasad emphasized on personal leadership that needs to be striven within every individual for a safer, happier and flourishing society. He encouraged students to develop creative and positive visualization of themselves for a better future.

Thereafter, the Principal Sr. Melissa addressed the gathering with her message on ‘Beating plastic pollution’ in a collective manner at home, school and society at large. Ms. Elecia expressed words of gratitude and the compares Ms. Shreya K and Ms. Zeenath concluded the programme on an inspiring note – reinforcing the importance of carrying out our individual and collective duties to let the peace of nature flow in our lives and the lives yet to come.
