Van Mahotsav 2022

Our school celebrated Van Mahotsav, Festival of Trees on August 1st along with a socio-cultural program. It was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest Mr Mark Shera, Senior Platoon Commander of Home Guards, also a famous agriculturist having a lush green farm at Madanthyar.

The program was organised by the members of Eco club. The celebration commenced with a prayer followed by a graceful welcome dance. Dillan, the president of Eco Club delivered the welcome speech and introduced the chief guest. The significance of the day was presented by Tanisha Shetty, Mahendra and Anora, highlighting the need to plant more trees. Thereafter some thrilling performances of the students brought a thunder of applause and appreciation from the audience. A scintillating dance was performed by the junior girls highlighting the theme “Say No to Plastic’. Subsequently, a mime was staged by the students stressing on the idea how mankind is on the verge of destroying, because of reckless cutting of the trees.

The chief guest addressed the gathering by enlightening the students about the need to plant trees, maintain a kitchen garden and save water. To accentuate the topic, a documentary was shared by the speaker about Terrace Gardening and methods of saving water.

Winners of the AICS Inter school competitions and Olympiad achievers were felicitated by the Chief guest and Administrator Sr Carissima. The celebration concluded with the vote of thanks rendered by the Eco club vice president Ahani Alva.

To commemorate the occasion, a few saplings were planted by the Chief guest along with the members of the Eco club in the school compound, to initiate a small step forward towards a clean and healthy environment. Tanisha, Shreyas, Kimberly and Dhanya compeered the programme.
