Ushering of the New Academic Year 2019 – 2020

June 01, 2019: To welcome the students to a new academic year, to boost their spirits and motivate and energize them for the year ahead, an orientation programme was conducted on 1st June, 2019 in the school auditorium. Students of classes I – XII assembled there, along with the staff.

After an inspiring prayer service by the students of Class XA, the new students were welcomed by the Principal Sr. Melissa A.C. The new staff members too were introduced and welcomed with a rose. Principal then briefed the students on the general rules and regulations of the school. Outstanding achievers, Aaron Reeve Mendes of Class II A for securing runner up position in the Chess championship under 8 years category held on 11th and 12th May at Ontario, Canada, and Nathan Pratheek of class V D for winning gold medal in Kata and silver in Kumite in the Budokan Karate Championship held in Goa, were felicitated and applauded for their excellent performances.

The orientation for the Nursery and LKG parents was held in the ground floor hall. After the prayer song, Sr. Carissima, the Administrator welcomed the parents. K.G Teachers then came forward and briefed the parents on areas of importance such as punctuality and responsibility, health and hygiene. This was followed by a brief demonstration of “One day at MCCS in a student’s life”. All facets of teaching-learning at that stage were demonstrated. Prerequisites for writing were given importance during the orientation. The art and advantages of storytelling were well explained. After the vote of thanks, the orientation programme ended with the singing of the school song, followed by the National Anthem.
