Prayer and Silent Protest March 2013

In solidarity with all our country men and in particular the women of our nation, the school organized a Prayer Meet and Silent Protest March against atrocities committed on women and young girls on Friday, January 5, 2013. At 8.45 am, a minute’s silence was observed in memory of victim of the Delhi gang rape, followed by a prayer service.

The guest speaker, Mrs. Vidya Dinakar addressed the gathering saying that we need to continue to raise voice against such atrocities, fighting for the protection of women’s dignity. The students along with their teachers and parents marched in silence holding placards with various captions on women up to Padavinangady, Bondel, where a street play on women’s issues enacted by the students of Infant Jesus Higher Primary School attracted the crowd in support of the school’s movement. At the end, Principal Sr. Melissa A.C. thanked all who participated and supported the cause.
