Inauguration of Summer Camp 2022

‘You can take a child out of a camp, but you cannot take the camp out of a child’.

This seemed true to life when the Summer Camp commenced today, March 28th at our School with elation. The eagerness of the parents to drop their little campers and the delight on the children’s faces was proof enough that this Summer Camp was the place to experience freedom and playfulness.

With a splendid entry wherein the tiny tots rode on tri-cycles, autos and bicycles with halogen balloons tied to their vehicles gave the campers an idea of what the days ahead at the camp would unfold giving rise to their curiosity. The Chief Guest Ms Remona Evette Pereira was escorted by the tiny tots along with the Principal Sr Melissa, Administrator Sr Carissima and Co-ordinator Sr Meena.

The teachers invoked God’s blessings through a prayer song which helped the audience to experience a sense of calm and peace. Sr Melissa, the Principal welcomed the chief guest Ms Remona Evette Pereira, the recipient of Rashtriya Pradhan Mantri Bal Puraskar 2022, the parents, staff and the campers and wished them a happy and relaxed time together.

Sr Meena carried out the felicitation part to the Chief Guest, a wonder Youth, a dancing star, Ms Remona Evette Pereira, the recipient of Pradhan Mantri Bal Puraskar 2022. An ex-student of Mount Carmel Central School, she was the only girl this time from South India to receive this award from the honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji, who while giving the award, complimented her for her outstanding achievements in Bharathnatyam. Srs Carissima and Melissa honoured Remona in a traditional style symbolizing protection, prosperity and hope.

The Summer Camp 2022 was then inaugurated by the dignitaries by cutting off the halogen balloons from the toy vehicles, and the campers rejoicing as the balloons soar up in the skies.

In her message, Remona expressed her joy in receiving this national award and told the young campers that ‘No talent is big or small, follow your dreams and do not let anyone degrade you.’

The programme was compered by teacher Dayanora with credence and elegance.

With passion and zeal tacked together it was evident that the main objective of this Summer Camp 2022 here at our School was to make memories. Memories with new friends, of new skills, and of fun and frolic.
