Grade VII to XII unravel “Metamorphosis” at the 14th Annual Day Celebration

We celebrated the 14th Annual Day themed “Metamorphosis” for grade VII to XII on 1st December 2022 at the school auditorium. The festive spirit was ushered in by the traditional South Indian Chende beats. The Chief Guest Shri N Shashikumar, DIGP and Commissioner of Police, Mangaluru along with Principal Sr Melissa, PTA vice president Mrs Jenifer Fernandes and the PTEC members were escorted to the auditorium with a Poorna Kumbha Swagatham.

As the dignitaries entered the auditorium, the Chende troop of the school entertained the audience with their mesmerizing beats coupled with dance and movements. Demonstrating the power of music, the school orchestra then played symphonies enthralling all gathered. Further, the choir guided everyone into the presence of God through the prayer song. The graceful dancers welcomed the gathering to witness the multifarious talents of our school through a graceful Bharatanatyam performance.

“When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers” said Sr Melissa, the Principal, in her welcome address and advised the parents to pay attention to the youth and children so that they can adapt themselves positively to the rapid changes that take place in the society and face metamorphosis – the new age with courage. She introduced the Chief Guest Shri N Shashikumar, cordially welcoming him and the gathering present, to witness and encourage the children on stage, celebrating the change in lifestyle on the 14th Annual Day celebration of the school.

The Annual report acknowledged the scholastic and co- scholastic activities that the institution has provided to its students with the Motto of achieving “Higher and Nobler”.

The Chief Guest Shri M Shashi Kumar was amazed by the welcome and confidence of the students on stage. In his speech, he appreciated the uniqueness in every child that he saw on stage and expressed how time and efforts spent on children will never be a waste. He urged the parents to work on a goal for their children and to be role models to them. He also wished the parents and the institution all the very best.

Joint Secretary of the School Sr Maria Anita A.C and PTA vice president Mrs Jenifer Fernandes gave away the Mother Veronica Award of Excellence to the meritorious students of the year for their phenomenal performance in different areas.

The students then unravelled the theme “Metamorphosis” through the cultural extravaganza. Grade VII illuminated the values of venerable Mother Veronica, foundress of the Apostolic Carmel, specially peace and harmony through their scintillating performance. The students of Grade VIII highlighted the significant changes of our lifestyle, elucidating the concept of Education and empowerment of a girl child through music and drama. The nightingales of the school then got the audience grooving and tapping to the rhythm of their songs. The talented thespians of grade X, XI and XII enthused the audience with their play “Villa for Sale”. Portraying the contribution of India to the realms of Science and Sports, the senior secondary students put forth a sportive performance. Grade IX and X displayed the rich cultural heritage of India through the period of transition through a musical drama.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms Ananya Sneha and the program was compared by students Aneka, Elsha, Benita and Christo.

The celebration ended with the School Song, honouring the institution and the core values it demonstrates to the society in the field of Education.
