Christmas Outreach Programmes

Our school poured out Christmas from the heart into the air in reaching out to the poor and needy. On the 22nd of December the kindergarten children adorned as angels, accompanied by the teachers gave the good news of the birth of the prince of peace to the inmates of Shanthi Vihar at Paldane, a home for the senior citizens. The superior Sr Assumpta joyfully welcomed and greeted the little ones and ushered them to the recreation venue. Student Aiden Shaun welcomed the inmates. The humble manger looked like a magnificent manor as the children in all their innocence and love transported the senior citizens to Bethlehem town by presenting a skit coupled with Christmas carols. The true spirit of Christmas was felt in those magical moments of the interaction and dance among the octogenarians and our preschoolers. The superior Sr Assumpta shared the heart beat of her inmates in her vote of thanks. The children and the inmates shared the refreshments together.

On December 23rd, the students of grade V visited the inmates of Veronica Vihar, a home for the mentally challenged adults and entertained them with a short programme which included a prayer, carol singing and a celebration dance. The students danced and sang merrily with the inmates along with Santa Claus. Keeping in mind the true essence of Christmas of spreading love, hope and joy with compassion and care, they shared Christmas cake with them along with a cash gift.

The students of grade VII C and D were happy to board the school bus in Christmas costume and ran in haste to give the good tidings of differently abled children of St Agnes Special School with a Christmas programme and celebrated it further with the children with cake and juice. Principal Sr Shruthi thanked the students and staff of MCCS for giving joy to their children and also acknowledged gratefully the support given for their midday meal scheme.

The neighbouring schools of Infant Jesus Hr Pry School and Ramashrama Hr Pry School too were remembered in sharing cake with them.

The joy of Christmas was doubled in every heart that took part in the outreach programmes. The giver as well as the receiver experienced the joy and peace of Christmas.
