We celebrated the feast of Christmas on 23rd December 2021 in the school auditorium. The students of Grade A, B and C were the programme which began with a prayer service invoking God’s blessings to provide us with hope, love and resilience. The students welcomed with joy, the principal Sr Melissa, administrator Sr Carissima, vice principal Sr Lidwyn and the audience for the celebration of Christmas. Further, uplifting the theme of Christmas, the students tapped their feet to the tune of jungle bells. The significance of Christmas was presented by the students elucidating the abbreviation of “CHRISTMAS” with a joyous and meaningful musical drama. The Christmas carols were sung by sprinkling magic and happiness in the atmosphere.
“Christmas is Lord Jesus taking the form of humanity, born like a humble, simple baby and that is what we celebrate”, said Sr Melissa, the principal. She shared her thoughts about the spirit of Christmas, which not only includes cakes and bakes, decorations and Santha carrying gifts, rather the spirit of Christmas lies in forgiving, caring and sharing with one another. She expressed her happiness for cooperating to the “Annual Love Offering” and the sharing of the same with the institutions that care for the poor and needy. Further, inscribing various ways to extend the spirit of Christmas amongst the audience, Sr Melissa wished everyone the true spirit of Christmas, that of love, hope and resilience. She also congratulated the students for putting up a beautiful program.
The kindergarten children also celebrated Christmas in all its grandeur. The traditional Christmas narrative, the nativity of Jesus, “the crib” was put up amidst the hue of nature and animals, birds etc spoke for itself the birth of Jesus. This green crib did not have only three kings or a few shepherds instead had about 900 visitors. Yes, they were the tiniest, tiny and primary students who visited babe in the manger with gifts of garlands, wreaths, holly, mistletoe, caps, carols and stars to extol and acclaim that Jesus is born to open our hearts in love, hope and joy to welcome each other lovingly during this Christmas season.
A staff get together was held which ended with a fellowship meal. A number of competitions too were conducted to the students class wise, bringing out the creativity of many. The entire school reverberated with spirit and festivity of Christmas.
