UKG Children celebrate Veggie Day

UKG Children celebrate Veggie Day

Hurrah! It’s a Veggie Day! Green, purple, orange, red all of these from the soil bed! Vegetables are an essential component of the food we consume, thereby being a vital contributor to our nutrition. To make the UKG students understand this concept, we organized a joyful Veggie Day celebration to them in the 1st week of October. Children generalized their learning through their class project, when the plants of some vegetables were shown in their totality, followed by video presentation to know the benefits of vegetables for a healthy immune system and growth. Children were enthused as they were watching these videos and some even had a few queries. This was supported with hands on activities of art and craft. They enjoyed the day’s snacks of green salad. A visit to the nearby vegetable garden reinforced their learning. It was a happy moment to see the children singing rhymes related to the vegetables. At the end, they carried home a craft with a message “we shall grow our own vegetables for better nutrition and good health”.
