The Hands on Experience – Mathematical Concepts

Mount Carmel Central School in collaboration with Association of ICSE and CBSE Schools (AICS) hosted a seminar on The Hands on Experience – Mathematical Concepts on August 11, 2015. Mr. Arindam Roy Chowdhury, Principal cum Campus Director of Kalpavruksha Model School, Bailhongal – Belgaum was the resource person for the day.

The programme began with a prayer song by our students. Sr. Melissa, Principal welcomed the gathering. She said: “It is said that Maths does not make simple things complicated but complicated things simple.”

Mr. Chowdhury emphasized on the role of Mathematics teachers to create a sound foundation of mathematical ideas and concepts in a way wherein the child is able to grasp them easily. He gave them a few techniques to solve the problems in simple ways.

A total of 46 teachers from 22 schools from in and around Mangalore actively participated in this workshop, thus making it a successful and meaningful event of ‘teaching-learning’ process.

Vote of thanks was given by our Maths teacher, Mrs. Lavita.
