Christmas Outreach Programmes 2023

The season of Christmas is a time of sharing, caring and giving. The students of our school shared the Christmas message on December 22nd and 23rd with the inmates of Shanthi Vihar-Home for the Elderly at Paldane, Mother Theresa Home at Attavar and Veronica Vihar, Maryhill.

At Shanthi Vihar, the programme started with a prayer dance. Teacher Jenitha welcomed the gathering. Students of Grade II C and II D transported the inmates to ‘The Bethlehem Town’ in their tableau depicting the birth of the Prince of Peace and spiked it with Christmas carols and dance. The students shared with the inmates cake, juice, fruits and biscuits and interacted cheerfully with the senior citizens who were overwhelmed with joy to see in them their own grandchildren. Sr Maria Assumptha, the sister in charge of the home gave the Christmas message. The programme concluded with the note of gratitude by Ms. Dora, one of the inmates.

The students of grade VI and VII visited the inmates of Veronica Vihar, Maryhill and gave them joy through a short programme. The children interacted with the inmates and shared fruits and eatables with them, bringing smiles on their faces.

The Carmel Blossoms shared Christmas joy with the inmates of Mother Theresa’s Home, Attavar by paying a visit to them. 25 Carmel Blossoms accompanied by Srs Supreetha and Teena visited them and entertained them with a short programme which included a prayer, carol singing and a dance. The students danced, sang merrily and interacted with the inmates. They shared their joy by contributing few eatables, groceries and fruits. Sr Yesu Therese, the Superior of the house appreciated the Carmel Blossoms for their programme and thanked the school for having such an exposure to the students to share their joy with the less fortunate.

The true essence of Christmas peace, joy and sharing was etched in the hearts of the inmates and the students.
